Description Account book found during the William Burgin restoration of Isaac Carr's general store in 1979. Judging by its dates, 1887and 1888, the book was kept by A. M. Bailey, Isaac Carr's successor. He advertised "meats and vegetables, three assistants, orders called for and delivered." The items he sold are interesting and the prices he charged are noteworthy: four lbs steak, $1.13; 2 lbs mutton chops, $0.14; 5 lbs lobsters, $0.40. This account book makes a great companion to a similar book in the JHS collection that was kept by John E. Watson in 1915 and 1916. These notes were made by Mary Miner, 3/29/2004
